Dave Trachtenberg's Commitment to Clients
I commit to doing my best to create a space for each and every person where:
All emotions, thoughts, and experiences are fully accepted, welcomed, and honored.
All people are fully valued, heard, and feel that they matter.
All people have the opportunity to dream of what can be, and to pursue their dreams with loving support.
All people can speak their truth and be accepted and embraced for it. All sides of you will be accepted, and never judged.
All people will be invited into a place of curiosity and inquiry, in order to gently challenge themselves to face fears and areas of growth in a way that is safe.
All people will be treated with a deep sense of empathy, kindness, and compassion. In turn, I will do my best to guide clients to learn practices of self-compassion and self-kindness, so that they can learn to love and embrace all parts of themselves.
All people are supported in their journey of growth and self-discovery regardless of their past experiences and actions. Everyone deserves a clean slate, and a chance at beginning anew.
All people are given the time, space and dedication needed to discover their wisdom, and the courage to navigate their challenges.
"The wound is the place where the light enters you."
"Mindfulness meditation doesn't change life. Life remains as fragile and unpredictable as ever. Meditation changes the heart's capacity to accept life as it is. It teaches the heart to be more accommodating, not by beating it into submission, but by making it clear that accommodation is a gratifying choice."
~ Sylvia Boorstein
“Touch your inner space, which is nothingness, as silent and empty as the sky; it is your inner sky. Once you settle down in your inner sky, you have come home, and a great maturity arises in your actions, in your behavior. Then whatever you do has grace in it. Then whatever you do is a poetry in itself. You live poetry; your walking becomes dancing, your silence becomes music.”
The journey of learning mindfulness is one of profound depth. We learn to create a more honest and intimate relationship with ourselves, the people in our lives, and the world around us.
It means getting vulnerable, and taking off the emotional armor and walls we've put up. It means learning to fully accept all of parts of ourselves: all of our emotions, thoughts, body sensations, life circumstances...everything. It asks us to look at the parts of ourselves we keep secret, the sides of ourselves that we don't like, or are ashamed of...and learn to befriend and love them too.
Mindfulness asks us to start getting curious about our fears, and to find the courage to face them. It gives us the clear-seeing to recognize and let go of old patterns and conditioning that no longer serves us. It gives us space, so we have the freedom to live a life with greater integrity, and more aligned with our core values. It allows us to be more compassionate with ourselves, and find greater peace and stillness within.
I've had the honor of practicing meditation for over 20 years, and it is my deep honor to provide guidance, support, and a warm presence for those who seek to walk the same journey. I take great joy in mentoring both those who are new to mindfulness practice, as well as those who have practiced for years, and are seeking to deepen their practice. Having trained with both with secular mindfulness (MBSR, Engaged Mindfulness Institute, Mindful Schools), as well as studying in the Buddhist Vipassana and Tibetan traditions, and the Chinese traditions of Tai-Chi, Qigong and Daoist meditation, it is my deep hope to offer a space where people can learn to accept, embrace, and honor themselves fully.
I help empower people to live with greater courage, fulfillment, and authenticity. Every person is provided a safe space to feel welcomed, share their story, and explore their hopes and challenges faced in living with greater alignment to their values.
Wellness Coaching sessions are very different from traditional talk-therapy. While all sessions dedicate space for deep listening and sharing, coaching provides a vehicle that helps clients set realistic intentions and road-maps in order to reach their goals for greater well-being.

Finding your voice is one of the most empowering and intimate journeys one can walk. Walk the Middle Way believes every person should experience what speaking your truth, and sharing your story, feels like. You'll learn to start turning inward to tune into the wisdom of your authenticity, and to speak in a way that is confident and authentic, that honors both your own voice, as well as inspiring and lifting up others.
"As we let our own light shine, it give others permission to do the same," (Marianne Williamson) is the credo we facilitate self-discovery by: at all times interconnected with how our words and tone impacts the emotions of others.
Mindful Listening & Speech - The first step to finding our voice is learning how to listen better. We coach how to be a more attuned and patient listener, becoming aware of our body sensations and emotions that arise while listening, so that when we speak it is fully present and connected with the person in front of us. We also emphasize learning how to speak and modulate our tone in a way that is empathetic and respectful to the people we are in dialog with.
Storytelling - Everyone has a unique story, and the sharing of our life's path can be one that inspires and cultivates human connection in any personal or professional setting. We teach people to find personal stories that will resonate with others, how to speak in a way that is both engaging and authentic, and honing various methods of pacing, voice tone, and voice projection in order to best speak from the heart and connect with an audience.
Public Speaking - We will teach you how to engage a room in any professional setting, in a way that honors both your voice and intention. Our approach to coaching public speaking involves both mindfulness and guided imagery. It is a journey that involves turning inward to discover where we find strength and conviction in the body, how to tune into the physical space of the room and the audience in front of you, and how to cultivate empowerment images in the mind to draw internal courage and strength from.
